In rare cases, these impurities can trigger a short circuit within cells in the high-voltage storage. In the worst case, this short circuit can lead to a thermal incident. Although very rare, the risk for G05 PHEV is higher due to a parallel connection of cells, which delivers a higher energy in case of a short circuit. On the affected vehicles the cell module of the high-voltage battery will be replaced.
