Under certain circumstances, the manufacturing fault could cause a shaky contact, which might result in the system detecting the hands on the steering wheel even though they are not. Safety standards, such as a hands-off warning or emergency stop, could not be triggered by the system in required situations. Risky driving situations and even the risk for injury cannot be excluded. On affected vehicles the steering wheel will be checked and if necessary, the ground connection reworked. |
