| Vian kuvaus | The brake pressure is built up and supported by an integrated electric servomotor. The affected part is a sensor which determines the position of the IB servomotor. The signal contact to the motor position sensor might be impaired due to certain conditions in the suppliers’ production process. In case of an electrical contact failure, an unexpected loss of hydraulic brake assist may occure and may result in a different pedal behavior and therefore – under specific conditions an extended braking distance, even the mechanical conventional braking function is maintained. Furthermore, ABS and Stability Control could be impaired. In this case the driver might be irritated, which could cause unexpected driving behavior. A warning will be displayed (CCM message) during the start, during driving or the braking process. The emergency function of the electronic brake force distribution is maintained and ensures the stability of the vehicle even in the event of a hazard braking. Nevertheless, in the event of a failure of the electric braking force support, a mechanical fallback level with good performance and braking stability is ensured. In this case the electronic parking brake (EPB) will be automatically activated additionally. This IB system on affected vehicles still offers a significant higher performance than a conventional brake system. On the affected vehicle the IB System will be replaced. |
