| Vian kuvaus | The fault refers to the CS-Sensor (Car-Sensitivity-Sensor) of the second seat row (outer seats) which detects the exceeding of certain accelerations limits and the rotation of the vehicle (rollover). Due to not correctly performed maintenance at the supplier, during the fitting of the sensor to its adapter plate the sensor pins might have been deformed. This fault might also be a non-conformity with regards to the ECE.R 16 section 6.2.5.3.1.1 and the FMVSS209 (2)ii/ CMSVSS209 (2)ii. If the CS-Sensor is not functioning properly, there is a risk that the seat belt will not lock in situations such as heavy breaking, a turn or a rollover of the vehicle and therefore not hold the rear passengers in position. This can lead to an increased risk of injury. On October 14th, 2025, BMW decided to initiate the safety recall “Seat belt rear seats - BMW U10 U11 F70 F74 MINI U25”. On affected vehicles the rear seat belts on the right passenger side will be replaced and/or on the left passenger side, depending on the production date, the seat belts will either be replaced or checked and replaced if necessary. |
